Day 6 – Final Day in Mont-Tremblant

Today would be the final day of our vacation, but we have the full day here, as we do not have to meet our shuttle transfer to the airport until 6:45 PM.  We mostly spent the day relaxing around the hotel and the village.

It was a mostly overcast day, with some fresh snow, and still nice for walking around.

While wondering around the village, I captured the videos below while riding the Cabriolet lift that takes visitors from the parking area at the base of the village to the base of the ski area at the top of the village.

After a nice lunch in the village, we returned to the hotel to relax while waiting for our transfer to the airport.

When we arrived at the airport, we saw our aircraft arrive with a full load of passengers coming in for the weekend.  However, we learned that there were only 4 passengers (including us) on our flight back to Toronto.  It is certainly best to come to Mont-Tremblant mid-week and not on the weekends in order to avoid the crowds.

Here is a photo of the Mont-Tremblant international airport.

Porter Airlines re-seated us back in row 6 from row 3 due to weight and balance issues, which meant we were sitting next to the propellers, making for a noisier ride home that our flight out.  However, it was an uneventful flight and we made it back home safely.

Day 5 – Skiing Again

Today was a perfect day for skiing.  Skies were sunny and clear, and the temperature was about minus 7.

After breakfast, Nadine and I suited up for a day of skiing.  At first, Nadine wasn’t sure if her legs were up to the challenge, but after a few practice runs on the beginner area, she decided to try a run down the mountain.  We rode the gondola up to the top and I snapped this photo before we headed down our first run.

We mainly spent the day skiing the north side of Mont-Tremblant, where it seems to be less busy and the snow conditions are a bit better.  After about 4 or 5 runs, we stopped for lunch in the cafeteria at the top of the mountain.  Here’s me standing on the deck next to the cafeteria entrance.

We started lunch late, so it was already after 2PM when we were finished.  However, there was still enough time to complete one more run on the north side of the mountain before we would need to return to the south side before the lifts close at 3:30 PM.

Here’s a photo of Nadine skiing.

I also managed to capture a couple of videos of Nadine skiing down the mountain.

And here’s another one…

Once we made it to the bottom of the north side, we took the lift back up one last time so we could ski back to the hotel on the south side.

Arriving back at the hotel, we got cleaned up and went to the lounge for drinks and snacks.  It was a tiring but very enjoyable day on the slopes.

Day 4 – More Skiing

We awoke early to get on the lifts at 7:45 AM so we could get some runs in before the skiers carve them up.  Unfortunately, after trying a couple of runs in the beginner area, Nadine decided her legs were still too sore to ski.  So, I set out on my own to spend the day skiing while Nadine recovered at the hotel.

In the evening, we spent a couple of hours in the hot pools before having a nice dinner at Windigo, the restaurant at the hotel.

The forecast is good for tomorrow, about minus 5 and partly sunny, so hopefully Nadine will make it back out on the slopes.
